Bear Iron Works 1 CY Bedding Box for Mini Excavators

The Bear Iron Works 1 CY Bedding Box is a compact material-containment solution designed specifically for mini excavators working on trenching, utility installation, landscaping, and confined jobsites. With a nominal 1 cubic yard size and approximately 1.3 cubic yards of actual capacity, it keeps bedding sand, gravel, topsoil, and other material contained and close to the work area.

During trenching operations, the bedding box allows material to move along with the excavator rather than being repeatedly transported from a distant stockpile. This can reduce unnecessary machine travel, minimize material loss, and make it easier for the excavator operator to place bedding material accurately around installed pipe.

Bear Iron Works designed the 1 CY model around compact equipment rather than simply scaling down a larger box. Its reinforced construction includes Schedule 80 pipe cross members, gusseted structural areas, a fish-plated underside for resistance while dragging, D-rings for handling and tie-downs, and heavy-duty welded construction.

An optional skid steer attachment plate is available for contractors who want the box to be picked up and repositioned from the side using compatible skid-steer equipment. The standard configuration weighs approximately 850 lbs, while the attachment-plate configuration weighs approximately 1,000 lbs.
