Bear Iron Works 3 CY Bedding Box for Backhoes & Excavators

The Bear Iron Works 3 CY Bedding Box is a heavy-duty material containment solution built for trenching, utility installation, excavation, and general construction applications. Designed for backhoes and mid-size excavators, it keeps bedding sand and other bulk materials close to the trench so operators can work efficiently as the job progresses.

With approximately 3.1 cubic yards of actual capacity, a 43-inch internal width, and a reinforced steel structure, the 3 CY Bedding Box bridges the gap between Bear Iron Works’ smaller compact-equipment boxes and its larger high-volume contractor models.

During trenching operations, bedding material can be delivered into the box from a staging area, while the excavator or backhoe removes only the amount needed for pipe installation. The box can then be repositioned along the trench as work progresses, reducing unnecessary trips to material stockpiles and helping keep loose bedding material contained.

Bear Iron Works reinforces the 3 CY model for demanding daily use with a fully gusseted neck and frame, double-pass welded structural members, a fish-plated underside designed to withstand dragging, and D-rings for securing and handling the box.

In addition to bedding sand, the box can be used to contain gravel, rock, soil, topsoil, and other bulk construction materials.
