The Bear Iron Works Growler Grizzly Rock Screen is a compact, heavy-duty screening solution designed for utility tractors, compact skid steers, landscaping equipment, and light construction applications. It bridges the gap between the smaller Koala and the contractor-focused Cub, giving operators more screening capacity while remaining manageable with smaller equipment.
The Growler uses solid steel screening rails and Bear Iron Works’ anti-deflection construction to separate rocks, debris, and oversized material from usable soil, gravel, compost, manure, and other bulk materials. Its approximately 74-inch internal width makes it well suited to midsize tractor and compact-equipment buckets while maintaining a relatively compact overall footprint.
The standard configuration uses 3-inch rail spacing, with 4-inch, 5-inch, and 6-inch spacing also available. Contractors requiring finer finished material can add Bear Iron Works’ removable screen system, which allows screening down to smaller particle sizes without replacing the main Grizzly.
Bear positions the Growler as a versatile middle-ground model for property owners, farmers, landscapers, and contractors who need more capability than the Koala but do not require the size of the Cub. Bear also specifically notes its transport-friendly size as one of the Growler’s advantages.
Koala: Best for ride-on skid steers, compact yard tractors, landscaping work, and smaller material-screening applications.
Growler: Choose the Growler for utility tractors in approximately the 25–50 HP range, compact skid steers, landscaping businesses, farms, property development, and lighter contractor applications.
Cub: Step up to the Cub when using a standard-size skid steer or when greater capacity and a wider screening area are required.
Mama: Better suited to larger tractors, backhoes, and heavier contractor applications.
Papa: Designed for full-size loaders, aggregate operations, and large-scale material screening.
Removable screen, vibrator, wings, bang bars, D-rings, and other factory options are not included unless ordered separately.
