The Bear Iron Works Papa Grizzly Rock Screen is the largest standard production Grizzly in the Bear Iron Works lineup, engineered for full-size loaders and demanding material-screening applications.
With approximately 6.8 cubic yards of screening capacity, a 144-inch internal width, and a 3,300 lb operating weight, the Papa is designed for heavy civil construction, aggregate processing, quarry work, mining, recycled concrete, large rocks, riprap, scrap material, and other high-impact screening applications.
Bear Iron Works reinforces the Papa beyond its smaller Grizzly models. The screening deck uses heavy-duty solid steel bars, while the frame incorporates a double-header design, additional cross rails, and structural gusseting to withstand the impact generated by larger loaders and heavier material. Bear specifically identifies the Papa as its heavy-duty choice for industrial and aggregate producers.
The standard configuration uses 3-inch screen spacing, with 4-inch, 5-inch, and 6-inch spacing also available. For finer material separation, the Papa can be paired with Bear Iron Works' removable crusher-mesh screen system, allowing operators to process material down to much smaller sizes without replacing the main Grizzly.
Koala: Best for smaller yard tractors and ride-on skid steers handling landscaping and lighter screening applications.
Growler: Designed for compact skid steers and utility tractors where more capacity is needed without moving into a full contractor-size screen.
Cub: Best for standard skid steers and general construction screening.
Mama: Designed for backhoes, larger tractors, and heavier mid-size construction applications.
Papa: Choose the Papa for full-size loaders, heavy civil projects, quarry and aggregate operations, mining, recycled concrete, riprap, large rocks, and high-volume material screening.
Bear's 2027 equipment reference places the Papa in the approximately 14,600–42,000 lb loader range, using the CAT 908 through CAT 950 class as reference equipment.
Removable screen, vibrator, wings, bang bars, D-rings, custom colors, and other factory upgrades are sold separately unless specifically ordered.
